Youth Justice Information Kits
PLENA Network is once again coordinating the assembly and distribution of the popular Youth Justice Information Kits (900 English Versions; 100 French). Numerous organizations have provided first class educational and learning resources e.g. booklets, pamphlets, brochures, that will be of interest to youth justice related service providers and intermediaries across the province.

Youth Justice Advisory Group
This series of initiatives, based on the findings of the Community Partnerships forum process, highlight the importance of increasing not only public awareness, but also communication between participating organizations. The themes of communication and collaboration recurred throughout this advisory group’s dialogue.

Youth Justice Theatre
As part of its Kids & Crime Initiative, the PLENA Network has undertaken to develop a capacity in Alberta to deliver information to students about the new Youth Criminal Justice Act through live theatre.

Major Centre Forums and Community Outreach Sessions
In 1998, the Government of Canada launched the Youth Justice Renewal Initiative (YJRI) - designed to create a new, cooperative, integrated approach to youth justice. As part of this initiative, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, Bill C-7 was re-introduced in the House of Commons in February, 2001. This bill will replace the Young Offenders Act and is a key element of the YJRI.
